How To Lose Belly Fat Without Exercising

This seems to be searched quite a lot. It is proof that humans are brutally lazy and will do anything to avoid actual work.  A little off topic, but I have heard that the highest proportion of heart attacks occur on a Monday morning, meaning that some of us are so lazy we will have a heart attack to avoid going to work!

I think that unless you are extremely overweight there is not much chance of losing belly fat without exercising. Sure you can eat a good nutritious meal  6 times a day and measure out exact proportions for each meal, but if you are not burning any fat through exercise you will not see much in terms of results. You will definitely feel better though and will be a lot healthier, and over the long term you will notice some fat loss, but nothing like the synergestic effect of combining nutrition and exercise.

My bet is against you however. If you are too lazy to do exercise, the chances of you sticking to a good diet and not wandering from the course are pretty much zero. It is far harder to so no to chocolate cake at a party than it is to fit half an hour of exercise into a day. Take from this what you will, but as I say, my bet is against you losing belly fat without exercising, unless you are extremely overweight.
Even then you should still be doing a bit of exercise, even if you can only manage to walk around the outside of your house a couple of times a day.

Go on mate, just have one with the guys!

It is tempting to have a drink when we are out with they boys or girls, but what is it doing to our attempt to lose body fat? Is it really as harmful as we hear it is or can we have a few drinks now and again? In this article I will give you a few fantastic tips about fat loss and alcohol.

I think what we first need to realize is this: Binge drinking is extremely counterproductive to fat loss
No matter if you drink low carb beer, red wine, or a sugar packed RTD, binge drinking is very harmful to your fat loss attempt, no exceptions. When you binge you are overloading your body on carbohydrates and sugar. This wouldn’t be so bad if you were planning on running a marathon or cycling 50kms, but chances are the only running you will be doing is from the police or the bouncers downtown. When we ingest all of this sugar at once our body doesn’t have anywhere for it to go. Some of it comes out in the bathroom, some of it may come back up through the entrance, but a lot of this sugar stays in your body and helps destroy any progress you might have made.

The physical effects shown above are dramatic enough, but think about the next day.

You are lying in bed with a pounding headache, dry mouth and wondering who that is sleeping on the floor. You are out of the rhythm that you have worked so hard to get into, and chances are great that you will miss your workout. Now don’t get me wrong – I am not the party police, nor am I being holier than thou – a couple of late night shenanigans are acceptable on the odd occasion, but drinking like this every couple of weeks is sending you to an early grave, in an oversized coffin.

::::

Now, what is acceptable when trying to burn body fat? Well, there are definitely some alcohols that are worse than others in terms of sugar levels.

Low carb beer is better than the normal sugary crap that is produced, marginally, but red wine is not too bad. If you can get away with having a red without getting accused of turning to the dark side, then go for it. Having one a night is acceptable, but not advisable. It is still excess sugar that you are trying to avoid. Why even have a drink every night? Why not just enjoy a bottle of water, tea or coffee?

Anyway – keep it in moderation, you will notice that there are never any body builders out in the clubs at 3am, and chances are good that if they are, they are now retired and getting a bit flabby!

Until next time, look good, feel good and live like you mean it
