It believe that knowing How To Lose Weight Safely AND Fast is a huge part of weight loss.

Nobody wants to lose weight and have that sickly kind of skinny fragile look that we too often see in Hollywood and on the celebrity magazines.

(Subtle hint to picking up the opposite sex – healthy=yes | unhealthy=no thanks, I have a partner)

There is a huge difference in the way that some people lose weight i.e. crash diets, totally leaving out a major part of their nutrition, following old and dispelled myths, fad diets, throwing up and just plain old not eating.

This article will dive into what it means to lose weight safely and fast and how to do it.

If you have ever tried one of the above methods to lose weight before, I feel for you.  We are told by marketing hype from all over the globe that you can lose weight from following these old wives tales. But if you consider the question: “Is this a good long term strategy?”, then you will always realise, “No… It sure isn’t, what idiot did I get this advice from?”.

Being overweight or even just having enough body fat to prevent you from wearing some sexy hip hugging jeans or a beautiful dress can be enough to send you over the edge. Marketers and big corporations have learned how sensitive males and females are to being overweight, and they have cashed in big time by selling these crash diets and fad diets world wide.

These people/things have got one thing in mind, pure unadulterated profit.

Benjamins, ching chings, bling blings, rattling pockets, swimming in a sea of your money.

Be thankful though. Some peoples diet choices have ended up with them taking up a seat in heaven. Be grateful that you are able to read this article.

When we put all our problems in perspective, we realise that we are not that bad off compared to some people… Even the person in the worst circumstances has something to be grateful about.

Be thankful that you live in a place where you can freely surf the internet, have a family, earn money, eat what you choose, spend your time how you like it, and if you do not have these freedoms, at least

you have the freedom in your own mind to do what you like (and save up to buy a ticket outta there!).

So what is the method to losing weight safely and fast?

Well it all starts off with a plan.

First, get your nutrition in check, because abs, and therefore your whole body, is made in the kitchen.

We all probably know somebody who hits the gym or always is working out, but still has a bit of a belly on them, now they may have just started those stated activities, or maybe they are dominating a four pack of mini pizzas each meal?

The first step in your nutrition plan is to take all your food that you know is crap such as chips, cookies, sweets and treats, soda, most canned food, white bread, white sugar, in fact anything that is packaged and does not go off is probably bad for you, and most food with more than one ingredient is often bad for you too, so take those foods and donate them to a charity or a halfway house or something.

Then go shopping for the new you.

Purchase fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads, legumes, grass fed/organic dairy products, lean meat, chicken, fish and milk.

How that list is not complete, but hopefully it gives you a head start on the obesity pandemic that this world is in!

Don’t buy anything that will stuff up your progress as if you have junk in the house, you will eat junk.

If you are an absolute, self confessed sweet tooth, eating a small (small) bit of dark chocolate (over 70%) is not too bad for your weight loss efforts.

The second step to busting into this new life and body is to form an exercise plan, now this is best done in accordance with a good fitness program, but if you already have a bit of fitness knowledge you can do this yourself, although a good fitness program will always be king, especially if the author has a great body.

However a few things I recommend would be: do a few days cardio and do a couple of light weights for the first two weeks to get your body accustomed to working out before you progress.

This will be enough to kick start anybody who wants to lose weight, and is the foundation of a solid healthy lifestyle.

You will look back at how you used to live and will be disgraced and never even think of going back to it.

Who else wants to know what the best ab machine on the market is?



It seems that there are so many marketers and advertisers trying to sell us these magical contraptions which will chisel us a set of wicked abs within 14 days or they will be our servant for a week and fan us with palm leaves… Pretty much.

I am feeling a bit of a rant coming on today… Beware. I just can’t stand to see people that I know get ripped off and charged the GDP of some third world country for a piece of sub-standard equipment that promises the world and delivers nothing remotely close.

I will go into ab machines and the facts behind them and tell you my (and almost every other fitness trainer who has great results themselves) opinions on them.

As much of an optomist as I may be, I also have a bit of healthy scepticism when it comes to anybody / anything promising instant results, and I think that is a healthy thing.  Being gullible just leaves you and your soon to be featherweight wallet at the mercy of anybody who has a mouth and half a brain.

When one first embarks on the quest to get in shape and start toning up their body, they are first unsure what to do next. They may approach a gym, supplement store, personal trainers, the internet, infomercials or a friend or family member. Although getting into shape may be relatively simple , it sure isn’t easy.

The interested person is then bombarded with options, and will most likely fail to do anything by the syndrome know as “analysis paralysis”, which basically means that you over analyze your options and think yourself into confusion and end up doing nothing.  This fear is alive and well and is often seen in most aspects of life.

I will let you in on a wee secret that will save you a wheelbarrow of cash…

Ab machines are bull shit!

Lets look at how stupid they really are:

  • First, how do you think anybody got abs before they came along? They obviously didn’t have ab machines even 50 years ago, but people were still lookin’ good and had cut, lean bodies.
  • Any fitness trainer will tell you that traditional ab exercises will dominate the results ab machines will give you, purely because they make you work like stink!
  • A good body never comes without sacrifice, so next time you see somebody using an ab machine and reading a magazine while watching t.v, chuckle quietly.
  • Ab specific exercises are not the most important prerequisite to getting abs, losing the excess body fat that is covering them up IS!
  • Most of them cost so much and are cheap ass pieces of trash manufactured by kids under terrible conditions.

So you may be still wondering why the title of this post is… Who else wants to know what the best ab machine on the market is?”.

Well let me tell you…

I believe the best piece of equipment available to you isn’t on the market today.

I believe that your own mind is the best resource that you will ever have available to you.

It has been said by men far wiser than myself that :

“What comes to us for free is of little significance to us, but what we pay money for is of high importance, when the reverse is true.  The things that come to us free such as our love of family and friends, country and self, our minds, bodies and spirits are all things that we can never replace”.

It was Earl Nightingale who said that (not the exact quote, but as close as I can recall from memory).

So what should we learn from todays browsing of the internet???

Well I think we should learn to treasure our own things we can never replace, instead of putting importance on things that are man made and easily replaceable.

If we really wanted to get into shape, we would just learn from somebody who has the results that we want and then put them into practice.

We are all free thinking individuals who are not controlled by anyone else (no matter how it may seem sometimes), and only we have the will to want to become a better person, and a better person always starts by building a stronger mind.

Start by purchasing one (1) type of fitness program and following it religiously, unless you want to take your body to extreme levels or are a professional athlete, you should only ever need one damn good fitness book.

What Is The Best Cardio Workout For Weight Loss?


I suppose that the topic of the best cardio workout for weight loss has many right answers, and the best answer is most likely to be the one that you find the most enjoyable, and therefore will stick with.

Cardio is an important part of weight loss, on par with nutrition, and I will show you some of the  best cardio workouts for weight loss.

Taking time out of your day to get in a good cardio workout should be a mandatory requirement of being human. We all know how good it feels to put on some running shoes and go blast a quick lap around the cbd in our spandex, well, you know what I mean.

Mentally, physically and emotionally we all get lazy sometimes, and a quick burst of intense cardio can immediately change this frame of mind into one of productivity, gratitude and well being.

We all know what becomes of being lazy and watching too many office dramas, soap operas, dvds or just mindlessly surfing the web (unless it’s my site, although you still have to get up and take action afterwards!).  We end up feeling unfulfilled, tired, lacking energy and a little bit down, well I know that is how I feel anyway, you may feel fantastic by being lazy and unproductive… Just my subjective theory.

This is where cardio saves the day heroically.

Cardio sets off a lot of chemicals in our brains that make us feel good, it helps us lose weight, keeps us healthy, gets us a supply of much needed fresh air and gives us time to listen to our minds, industrial death metal, prerecorded lectures or speakers, or a touch of Patsy Cline.

Done in conjunction with some weight training, this is starting to form the ultimate workout program.

The best types of cardio are ones that get you huffing, puffing and sweating like a wild hog.

This could be any of the following and maybe more:

Boxing: Boxing is a great way to get in a quick workout with very high intensity. You can do this alone or with a partner and take turns beating the bag (mental images required here=boss, ex, current partner etc.) and get a great workout and even greater stress relief.

Just be sure to hit the bag with straight wrists as to not damage them (very painful), alternatively you can buy hand wraps to stop this happening (about $5 at any fitness store).

Imagine somebody is trying to attack you and you will get the benefits or a great adrenalin rush, weight loss, muscular endurance building and a sense of accomplishment.  Keep your hands up by your head (guard) and throw in the odd kick to the groin if you’re feeling it.

Hill/Stair Sprints: What better way to relax after work than sprinting up a massive staircase? None in my opinion! This one is dead easy and does wonders for stimulating a bit of weight loss and muscle building, especially as it targets the legs which are the biggest muscle in the body by far.

So you want a how to for this? Okay.

Get a stop watch and the biggest stair case you can find in town and get them together, start the stop watch and go run like somebody is chasing you up those stairs and stop the watch when you get to the top, rinse and repeat.  Always try and beat your old time the next time you go back to the stairs.

This applies to good old running too. You will get greater benefits from running as hard and as fast as you can for 20 minutes than you will from running a marathon each day, for reasons beyond the scope of this article.

Body weight exercises: These are great to get you sweating like mad and build a bit of muscle in the process.

This brings me to something that pops up every so often, the ladies in our world today seem to be afraid of the terms “building muscle” because they think they will end up with bigger biceps than Ronnie Coleman if they do a wee bit of iron every now and again.

Ladies, do not be alarmed when I say build muscle, I guarantee that you will not end up with a women body builders muscle structure unless you take a lot of drugs and spend 6 days a week pumping heavy, heavy iron. To get a very sexy body you will need to build a bit of muscle, just that it will not be very visible like it is on a guy.

Some great body weight exercises to get the blood pumping and the weight jumping ship, try these: push ups, chin ups, pull ups, dips, crunches, lunges, box jumping and burpees.

These are the cornerstone exercises of any great body weight routine, use them, as I have trained you well young apprentice…
