Motivation To Lose Weight Fast…
Why is it that when we need to do anything, we ask a series of servers and computers before we ask ourselves?
Is it because all of these machines house the answers we want, or is it to validate what we already know inside our own little grey computer?
We all know that we should lose weight, but we don’t all take the necessary steps and plans, then execute those plans to actually DO anything about it.
So, what is the difference between somebody who loses weight, gets in shape and gets the body they want, and the person who is out of shape, unhappy about that fact, but still does nothing to achieve what they want?
According to Humungous Hands Robbins himself, it is not so much the circumstances in our lives that determine our ultimate destiny, but how we INTERPRET those decisions that makes the difference.
Let me give you a crude example:
2 men are both in hospital visiting their wives who are sadly both dieing of the same thing. Heart disease.
They are unknown to each other and they never meet.
They are both overweight and not very healthy.
Both of their wives die.
Now, one man could think “I am so upset and sad because I loved her so much, I am going to hide away in my bedroom and eat ice cream and donuts to make me feel better”.
Obviously he doesn’t think those exact thoughts, but that is what will happen to the man who lets circumstances drive his decisions and life.
The other man could think “I am so upset and sad because I loved her so much. I will miss her dearly and because I know how much she loved me and wanted me to have a good life, I am going to start exercising and eating properly so I will never have to die like that.
Obviously this is a very simple example, but it is so true that if we let out CIRCUMSTANCES control our DECISIONS, then nobody has a hope of a shot at life. Think about that Jared guy for Subway who lost a major amount of fat – if he wanted to he could have said “I am way to overweight to lose body fat and actually be a normal size”.
If you decide to interpret your circumstances differently from now on, you will see a new light and a new ability in yourself.
Don’t get me wrong here, I think Tony Robbins does have some good stuff, but I also think a lot of it is quite wishy washy and without substance.
If you are poor at the moment, you can use that as an excuse to eat cheap junk food, or you can use it as a way to eat cheap fruit and veggies and get creative about eating well on a budget. You can start getting into superhuman body weight exercises and use jogging, stair sprints and other free tools to lose weight.
If you are extremely overweight, you can think that you are too fat and too out of shape and you will never achieve a size 10 dress or whatever, OR, you can see it as a big goal you really want to achieve, imagine the person you will become, not just physically but mentally. What a story that would be.
If you have no time, you can easily use your job, children, spouse, television, housework or other lame excuse, not that children or a job are ever lame
, OR, you can decide to MAKE TIME. NO MATTER WHAT.

Another principle that Tony Robbins talks about is one that I constantly use in my own life, you have probably heard other people barking on about it before, but let me jump on the bang wagon too:
The Pain / Pleasure principle
If you want to do something but are currently lacking the motivation and are procrastinating more than the All Blacks are at winning World Cups, you can use the pain pleasure principle to great advantage. Here is another one of my very simple examples:
If you currently want to lose weight, are over weight and quite sick of it, but are finding yourself procrastinating, you must take these two steps:
1. You must associate MASSIVE pain to the habits and state you are in right now
- Start looking at yourself as somebody else who would see you, not as you see you. See those rolls or pot belly for what it really is. That isn’t attractive. That isn’t you.
- Imagine being in hospital on your death bed saying your last goodbyes to children, your lover and your family because you are dieing from a heart or cardiovascular disease – it could all be prevented if you turned back the clock and made better eating choices and did some exercise. If ever you could turn back time, this would be the one time you would want it most, the real, chilling sensation of knowing that heart disease is the NUMBER ONE KILLER IN ALL OF THE USA.
- Go onto youtube.com and look up videos of fat and out of shape people – this will be you some day if you don’t change now. If you think I am being too harsh and critical, that is good. You need to get mad, so mad that you decide that you have HAD IT. You are so sick of being over weight that you HAVE TO CHANGE, it is no longer a choice.
2. Now you need to associate massive pleasure with getting the results you want.
- Imagine being able to wear what-the-hell-ever you want to. Mini skirt? Check. If you are a guy, maybe not check, maybe topless and some sexy shorts.
- Know that you will lead a long, healthy, active lifestyle. When you were young, you were most happy when playing with other children, racing around on slides, swings and all sorts, then you start to get less happier as you get into partying, drinking, a boring job, gradually the fire dies. Reignite that firestorm with some exercise that releases better-than-illegal drug like endorphins.
- See yourself playing ball with your kids, grand kids, going tramping with friends in your old age, climbing a mountain, doing a marathon at the age of 70
- Don’t tell anybody that you are going to lose weight, do it in secret. Then one day get a sexual new hair cut and color, get a bit of a tan, buy some hot new clothes, some sun glasses, then hit the beach, catch up with some old mates or go out and try to spark up a random conversation with a hot member of the opposite sex.
Can you feel the pleasure oozing through your veins.
By the way, sorry to drag you back into reality
If you have done this exercise properly, you will no longer be the same you.
You will instead be creating the new you mentally right now. Physically, that part isn’t so hard. Once you are working out, staying working out is a lot easier than actually starting.
